Maria Pagoni is a Biologist, graduated from the University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy, in 2010, specialising in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. After passing the state exams in Italy, she obtained the habilitation to practice professionally in Research and Development. In 2012, she completed a Master’s in Molecular Medicine at the University of Essex, England, and in 2013, conducted scholarship-supported research on the epigenetic mechanisms of prostate carcinogenesis at Cardiff University, Wales. In 2023, her doctoral studies at the Research Group of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, under Prof. Drakoulis, focused on the predisposition of patients with metabolic disorders to neoplasia. This experience inspired her to pursue her studies in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Essex, further developing her expertise in Bionutrition, lifestyle interventions, food safety and food quality standards.
