1980-1986: Medical studies at the University of Vienna
1984-85: Part time position as a student at the Diagnostic Laboratories (Division of Clinical Biochemistry) of the Second Department of Surgery, University of Vienna
1986-1987: Research Associate at the Institute of Clinical Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry of the RWTH Aachen, Germany
1987-1992: Postgraduate clinical education (Training in Medical and Chemical Laboratory Medicine) at the Diagnostic Laboratories (Division of Biochemistry) of the Second Department of Surgery, University of Vienna
September 1992: Accreditation as ”Facharzt für Med. und Chem. Laboratoriumsdiagnostik” (Specialist for Medical and Chemical Laboratory Diagnosis) by the Austrian Medical Association
October 1992 until the relocation of the Departments: Head of the Diagnostics Laboratories of the First and Second Department of Surgery, University of Vienna
March 1994: Awarded the title ”Universiätsdozent” (venia docendi) for Clinical Biochemistry
