
Prof. Kalliopi Gkouskou
Dr. Kalliopi Gkouskou is Assistant Professor of Biology and Genetics at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Her research focuses on Genetics of Metabolic diseases, and their interplay with environmental factors.
Dr Gkouskou has contributed to the development of innovative tools in personalized nutrition and health, including an algorithm that combines genetic data with bio clinical, family history and lifestyle data to offer precision-based health solutions. The algorithm has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the NKUA Innovation Award in 2023 and the 1st Business Seeds Award from the National Bank of Greece in 2024.
Through her academic expertise and dedication to translational research, Dr. Gkouskou bridges the gap between genomics and healthcare. Her work focuses on practical applications of genetic knowledge to tackle obesity and metabolic health issues, advancing personalized approaches to improve overall well-being.
